This beast of a train was known as "the most famous train in the world" at the time. It ran from Grand Central Terminal in New York to the LaSalle Street Station in Chicago from 1902 to 1967. Passengers would walk along a special crimson carpet to board the train and the term "Red Carpet Treatment" was born. The 20th Century Limited was owned by the New York Central Railroad Company. Impressive isn't it?
