My father and grandfather are both great artists, and as a child I felt I was a bit slighted in the creativity department (as if talent is a birthright??), because I couldn't draw or paint or sculpt. Sometimes I felt I had no imagination whatsoever. Of course I realize now that I have indeed been granted several creative gifts..just not in the department of the visual arts. Nonetheless, I am trying to comprehend perspective, because it is a concept that (beyond that first point) leaves me confused and frustrated. I am 46 years old and over the course of my lifetime I have begun thousands and thousands of drawings. I have sketchbooks full of barely-begun drawings. Not half-completed. Barely-begun. The sketch I have uploaded is my first-ever completed-to-my-satisfaction drawing.
