Welcome, and let me introduce you to Richa Kotriwala from Bhagalpur,
Bihar in India. I found her original ideas projected into her artwork
simply awesome. They may appear to some of you just too simple, but I
would like you to focus your attention to the originality of ideas in
her art.
Originality, my dear friend, is always The King! In
initial state it does not really matter how skillful or professionally
the drawing is done because it can always be perfected and polished
later. What is important is the idea and possibly the original idea.
I was very pleasantly surprised when I saw Richa’s Mandala Landscape
Drawing. I may lack the proper education but, in my mind, Mandala
represents a circular pattern artwork. Here, I suddenly saw landscape
made in Mandala fashion.
I thought, yes, this idea is just awesome. Mandala art does not need to
be made only by its traditional circular way. Considering this, the
mandala technique can be applied virtually on any type of art.
Richa Kotriwala did exactly that. She boldly combined the traditional
pattern into a completely new shape. I want to thank Richa for these
awesome ideas. I believe you too will be inspired and get some ideas for
your own fantasy drawings.
If you look closer, you may find that her artwork resembles more to
Zentangle than Mandala. I guess, it does not really matter much. Some
call it Zentagle, some call it Mandala. The point is this: do these
pictures art makes you feel good? Are you happy when you watch them?
Would you like to hang some of them on your wall? I say yes!
