This is my interpretation of the moment before the Great Extinction Event some 66 million years ago during the Cretaceous-Paleogene (K-Pg) era. Most scientists now agree that it was indeed a meteor/comet which contributed to the extinction of the dinosaurs and thousands of other species. The discovery of the Chicxulub Crater in Mexico in the early 1990's pretty much confirmed this theory. Spent a lot of time trying to draw this T-Rex, especially figuring out his skin.
